Look, we're just gonna give it to you, uh, straight. We are currently in a frenzy of Fashion Week packing and the way we're fighting over suitcase space calls to mind not so much a loving married couple as Blair and Jo fighting over a donut. Yes, we're packing our bags and heading to the shows, from which we will be tweeting and Facebooking and blogging and other social mediaing. In the meantime, we're not too proud to admit we'll throw up any celeb in a dress if we have an opinion on it. We promise - witch's honor! - that we will maintain our clockwork blogging schedule even when we're packed like sardines in a Lincoln Center tent and watching hungry models declare their fabulousness with each clomping step. Be sure to check our twitter to see which shows we're attending, darlings, and if you don't want to leave the cozy confines of the Haus of T Lo, you can always scroll down to our little TwitWidget on the right. But we PROMISE: NO INTERRUPTION IN BLOGGING SERVICE, NO MATTER HOW FABULOUS THINGS GET.
But it might be a lot of red carpet pics.
Anyway:
Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, and Matthew Weiner
attend a Mad Men Gala Event and photocall in Paris.
It's possible, because this is an AMC-sponsored event to promote the show, that it was decided she shouldn't show up looking too modern or unrecognizable. Because let's face it: this is an almost perfect recreation of her character's signature look from the show: bright color, high neckline with some detail to draw the eyes, tiny little belt, pencil skirt. Unsurprisingly, she looks fantastic. It's a really great color on her and as it's been demonstrated time and again on Mad Men, this is her silhouette to own. We think the shoes were a miss and she should have worn something with a pop of color. We would have even accepted matchy-match. Yes. It's true, but let's not dwell on it.
We will not call this an IN or OUT, but we will plead with Christina to consider dressing like a 2011 Joan Holloway more often because she kills when she's dressed this way.
Slattery looks either drunk or epically jet-lagged.
We're thinking WERQ needs to be a regular feature. You never know, Christina Aguilera might get something right one day. We need an acronym to describe someone showing unusual style and taste when they have a history for showing the exact opposite. This is your assignment, dolls: What does W.E.R.Q. stand for?
