Captain America's Costume Design on the Upcoming the First Avenger Movie

Just saw the trailer of Captain America: The First Avenger 2011 movie. I couldn't quite see the new costume for the hero so I looked for a clear image and stumbled upon the image above. Chris Evans in his full Captain America uniform. When compared to the 1990 classic Captain America look which Matt Salinger plays the iconic hero, its strikingly different.

They designed the new Captain America costume maybe too realistic. The movie's setting is in 1942 so I guess if you look at it, it seems appropriate for that time. Captain America is a soldier after all.
(more images below)

His mask is like a soldier's helmet, and his pants is from an airman’s jumpsuit. The wings are just painted on his helmet and the star is smaller. If you look at it at a certain point of view, you can actually imagine it being part of G.I. Joe. But if you don't like the costume, don't be too disappointed. They say that the costume will most likely be upgraded or changed in the most awaited The Avengers movie.

Now how about the Red Skull? They made simpler and it works for me.

Captain America: The First Avenger will be released July 22nd starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter and Samuel L. Jackson as Nicky Fury.
1942, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) deemed unfit for military service, he volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America's ideals. - IMDB

Twilight Breaking Dawn Should be Rated R Because of Sex and Childbirth Scenes

Robert Pattinson says that Breaking Dawn is for more mature audiences. Breaking Dawn focuses on Edward(Pattinson) and Bella(Kristen Stewart) marries and have a baby. If there's a baby, this means hot sex scenes and not to mention the half vampire half human childbirth scene. Seems like even having these scenes Breaking Dawn will be rated PG-13 like the first installments of the Twilight saga.

Robert also added that Breaking Dawn is like a horror movie and said in an issue of Entertainment Weekly that
"There's some interesting and weird stuff going on -- really very, very, very strange." Robert Pattinson laughed at the decision that Breaking Dawn will be released with a PG-13 rating. "I just can't see how it's going to be PG-13... unless they cut everything out," he said on a an interview.

There have been a pair of photos leaked from Breaking Dawn and was circulated through tweeter. Summit Entertainment quickly removed the images but failed to prevent it from circulating. The images shows Edward and Bella in bed making love. Notice that Edward is grabbing the headboard. Other than the sex scenes, the birth scene is also said to be "not for young audiences" with the caesarean on dying Bella and the fake placenta and all.

So far Twilight Breaking Dawn will be rated PG-13. Still fans argue that it should be rated R to stay true to some graphic scenes in the book. But screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg disagrees and is standing by the PG-13 rating.

Megan Fox Fired from Transformers Franchise

Paramount Studios confirmed the rumor that Megan Fox has been fired from the cast of Transformers 3. She will not return to the series when the third installment opens in 2011. They say that the "official reason" is that the third movie is a new chapter and they don't want the lead character to have a girlfriend. But it seems there may have been another reason.

Megan is known to have tense relations with director Michael Bay and some of the Transformers cast and crew. He compared Bay to "Hitler" and "Napoleon." The actress said in an interview with Britain’s Wonderland Magazine’s: “He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation" and “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is."

After which, some members of the film crew posted a letter on the director's site criticizing  her. But Director Bay did not like what the crew did and replied: "I don’t condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don’t condone Megan’s outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3."

There still no update on who will be the new love interest of Shia LaBeouf’s character.

Spartacus: Liam McIntyre as New Lead Actor for Season Two

Spartacus has a new lead actor. Starz confirmed to Access Hollywood that Australian actor Liam McIntyre would be playing the role of spartacus. This comes just days after Starz announed that they are recasting the lead role left by Andy Whitfield, who has been battling cancer.

Liam McIntyre, born February 8, 1982 in Adelaide, Australia will take over the role of Andy Whitfield for Season 2 of Spartacus, which begins shooting this spring. He is known for his roles on the long-running Australian soap "Neighbors" and had a small role in
HBO's "The Pacific." Liam is currently in New Zealand training and shaping up for his new role as spartacus.

"Since no one can really replace Andy, we realized that we should instead find an actor who can truly lead 'Spartacus' forward," Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement. "It was important to us to have Andy endorse the idea of recasting this part, which he did in the same heroic manner that he's dealt with his whole ordeal. And that, coupled with our fortune in finding a young actor with the gladiator credentials and the acting ability of Liam, makes it easier for us to keep this hit franchise going."

Andy Whitfield left the series due to his battle with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

"Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" will begin to air January 21, 2011 starring Lucy Lawless and John Hannah.

President Obama in Mythbusters Episode

The President made a guest appearance on the December 8 episode of Discovery Channel's "Mythbusters". More than 2 million people tuned in to show.

The December 8 episode of Mythbusters was taped on July 27. The episode is called "Archimedes Solar Ray."

President Obama  challenged "Mythbusters" hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage "to revisit an ancient and somewhat-controversial myth: Did Greek scientist and polymath Archimedes set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun?" in short asked the mythbusting duo to solve the legend of Archimedes' solar ray.

Discovery Channel's "MythBusters" is a reality series that sends adventure-seekers to discover the scientific truth behind famous urban legends.

President Obama was seen with hosts "MythBusters" hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage in a White House Science Fair where the President announced "I can announce today that I taped a special guest appearance for their show, although I didn't get blow anything up...I was a little frustrated about that."

The said myth was said to be already tested by the show twice in episodes in 2004 and 2006. A discovery channel representative said that "Regarding the Archimedes myth, fans are constantly asking the MythBusters to re-test it under different circumstances. Archimedes Solar Ray was ultimately chosen by the White House because it provided the greatest opportunity to get students involved in STEM [science, technology, engineering and math] in the most real way possible. We enlisted the help of 500 middle- and high school-aged students from Alameda, California, to help with the testing."

Harry Potter's Real Life Quidditch

Some Harry Potter fans made "Quidditch" into a real life sport. Although, not as exciting as in the movie, it is still competitive and tiring. Quidditch is a fictional sport in the Harry Potter book series. It is played by wizards and witches around the world. Matches are played with 2 teams, each has seven players riding flying broomsticks.

(Please view the full article if you do not see the video. Some browsers may have compatibility issues.)
"The sport has been adapted under the name of Muggle Quidditch or simply
"Quidditch" to the real world. Since at least 2003, Harry Potter fans have played ball games resembling the Harry Potter sport. In the United States, teams from more than 200 colleges are affiliated with the International Quidditch Association and play tournaments. Furthermore, high-level Quidditch tournaments are a mainstay of Harry Potter Conventions, such as Nimbus 2003, The Witching Hour, and, most recently, Infinitus 2010."

I know, its Season 3 already. But it's a great series, so watch it again and again. Alan Ball's True Blood is sexy and mysterious. it's full of violence, blood and occasionally funny and offers intense sex scenes. The setting is in a world where vampires are part of our society. Thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood, vampires no longer need humans for food.
